Exploring — nothing scheduled yet

Interested in learning barbering from Mike?

We keep getting asked about barber classes Queens residents can actually get to on a weekend. So we are asking back: would you come? DIDA is exploring weekend barber workshops at our Rego Park studio, and possibly a longer training program in the future.

Nothing is confirmed. Dates, pricing, format, curriculum, licensure credit, certification, and school status are all unconfirmed. This page is an interest list only — it is not enrollment, and there is no payment involved.

Mike, owner and master barber at DIDA NYC Hair Studio in Rego Park, Queens

WHO WOULD BE TEACHING

Mike is an owner and master barber at DIDA NYC Hair Studio, with 20+ years of practical barbering experience behind the chair. That experience is hands-on shop work — daily fades, tapers, beard work, and real clients with real hair — not classroom credentials.

DIDA is not a barber school. If anything runs, it would be a working barber showing people how he actually does the job, not accredited school or licensure training.

WHAT WE’RE EXPLORING

What we’re exploring, honestly stated: four ideas, none of them finalized, none of them on a calendar.

Weekend beginner workshops

Short, hands-on weekend sessions run inside our existing Rego Park studio — the same chairs we cut in every day. Whether they happen, and when, is still being worked out.

Small, hands-on groups

If workshops run, they would be kept small on purpose, so Mike can actually watch each person's hands instead of lecturing at a room.

Possible one-on-one time

Some people just want an hour with a master barber on one specific problem — a blend, a neckline, clipper control. That may be offered separately.

A possible longer program, later

A longer, more structured training program is an idea we are testing demand for. It does not exist today, and we are not taking names for a class roster.

WHO THIS WOULD BE FOR

If you want to learn barbering NYC-side without committing to a full program first, you are the kind of person we are trying to count.

Complete beginners

You have never cut hair and want to find out whether you even like it before spending real money on school.

Self-taught cutters

You cut friends, family, or your own hair, and you want someone experienced to tell you what you are doing wrong.

Barber and cosmetology students

You are already enrolled somewhere and want extra hands-on practice and feedback outside your school hours.

Working and licensed barbers

You already cut professionally and want to sharpen one specific thing — fade transitions, texture work, speed, consistency.

TELL US YOU’D BE INTERESTED

Responses will help Mike decide whether DIDA should explore weekend barber workshops Queens-side. This list does not mean a workshop will be planned.

JOIN THE INTEREST LIST

This tells Mike what people actually want. It is not enrollment, not a reservation, and there is nothing to pay. Fields marked * are required.

Email only. We never ask for a phone number here.

What are you interested in? *

Choose all that apply.

When could you realistically show up? (optional)

Choose all that apply. This only helps Mike judge demand — no date is being scheduled.

Helps Mike see how far people would travel. 5 digits, e.g. 11374.

Email only — no texts, no calls. Read our privacy notice to see what we store and how to be removed.

Submitting adds you to an email interest list handled through our lead platform, ProteusX. It is not enrollment, not a deposit, and not a reservation.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Can I sign up or pay for a class right now?
No. This is an interest list, not enrollment. There is nothing to buy, no deposit, and no seat being held for anyone. Your consent lets DIDA send possible future workshop or training updates if there is news to share.
When and where would this happen?
Dates are unconfirmed. The likely location is our existing studio at 92-29 Queens Blvd CU-6 in Rego Park, Queens, because that is where the chairs and the clients already are.
How much would it cost?
We have not set pricing, because we have not set a format. Anyone quoting you a DIDA workshop price today is guessing.
What would the curriculum be?
Undecided. The format, hours, and what gets covered are all still open questions — which is part of why we are asking what people actually want.
Is DIDA a barber school? Would this count toward a license?
No. DIDA is a working hair studio, not a barber school. Anything we run would not be accredited training and does not count toward New York State licensure hours or certification. For a license you need a state-approved school, and DIDA is not one.
Will you text or call me?
No. We ask for email only. You can ask to be removed at any time using the contact details in our privacy notice.

To be explicit: joining this list is not enrollment, DIDA is not a barber school, anything we run is not accredited training, and it does not count toward state licensure hours or certification.
